Government Engineering College, Sector-28, Gandhinagar celebrated
the 8
th International Yoga Day, at the college campus in a different
department on 21st June 2022, Wednesday. Before Celebrating
International YOGA Day Yoga practice series was conducted at
Government Engineering College, Sector-28, Gandhinagar from 17th
June to 20th June 2022. Many students and staff took part in this
celebration and practiced YOGA during this practice session.
International Yoga Day was celebrated by the students and Professors
at GEC, Gandhinagar with great enthusiasm.
The NSS Unit, Hostel Team and ECO club of the institute had organized “Tree
Planation on World Environment Day” in the institute hostel campus as a part of
“Azadika Amrit Mahotsav” in cooperation of Brij Group and Vanshree Trust
on 05-06-2022.
Shree Premalsinh Gol, Deputy Mayor – Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation
(GMC), Prof (Dr).N.K.Arora, Principal, GEC-Gandhinagar, Shree. Krunalbhai
Desai, Brij Group, Smt. Anjanaben Nimaavat, Pramukh-Vanshree Trust, NSS
team, Institute Hostel team, Institute ECO Club and many other dignitaries were
present in the program.
The program was inaugurated with the prayer by students of the institute and
the Deep pragtya was done by the dignitaries. The importance of Tree and
Environment was described in the program.
Honourable Shree Premalsinh Goal sow a “PIPAL tree” and inaugurated the
program. Later on, various participants like citizens, students and staff sow the
different types of tree in the boy’s hostel campus and make this program
successful.
Approximately 500 seedlings were sow and distributed in the program.
The Program was ended with the refreshment.
As part of road safety week celebrations, NSS unit of GEC, Gandhinagar organized a webinar on “Road Safety Awareness”. The event was organized online on MS Teams at 11:30 AM.
Teachers’ day is celebrated every year throughout the country on 5th September. Students express
their gratitude and appreciation for their teachers on this day.
On the occasion of 125th birth anniversary of our “Rashtriya Shayar” Shri Jhaverchand Megani, NSS unit of GEC, Gandhinagar organized a competition of Shri Megani’s Poetries.
To celebrate Amrut Mahotsav-2021 Freedom FEST, the following events have been organized and celebrated at Government Engineering College, Gandhinagar with the collaboration of WDC-NSS department, students and staff of all the branches.

Under the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav - Freedom Fest 2021 Fit India Run 2.0 was arranged at the Government Engineering College, Gandhinagar campus. The purpose of the event was to spread awareness on health and fitness among the people associated with the institute.
The “Tree Planation Pakhwada” was celebrated with full enthusiasm at GEC, Gandhinagar.
Students and staff participated by planting trees in campus as well as outside campus at their
homes. The Pakhwada was celebrated during 1st Aug to 15th Aug, 2021.
On this 7th International Yoga day Celebration
We NSS Unit & Gymkhana Team Government Engineering College Sector-28 Gandhinagar organize Session on “Importance of Yoga in Modern Life” with Yoga instructor Smit Soni & Krishna Chaudhari.
Under the current guideline of the government for vaccination of
the masses, the vaccination drive was arranged on campus at workshop building of Government
Engineering College, Gandhinagar. Along with the staff of Government Engineering College,
Gandhinagar the staff of Government Polytechnic, Gandhinagar were also provided vaccine at the
institute.
